Comments for Husker Du, Metal Circus

Their best work ever!! If only they could have made a double album, I'm sure they had extra tracks and some geek decided they were to hard-core.

Metal Circus is the crucial turning point for the Huskers. The sound of the future is in the first rushed guitar strains of "Real World". Great melodies with all the aggression learned from the hardcore years. An appetizer for Zen, and a helluva record on its own.

Where their talent really starts to emerge.A stepping stone to greater things.
This was the band`s first project for SST; a seven-song release in late 1983. Metal Circus is probably the least-acclaimed and most underrated of all the Hüsker records. This is the one that Nirvana and Pearl Jam only wish they could have made: loud, brash, and haunting, yet completely free of heavy-metal pretension. "Real World," "It`s Not Funny Anymore" and "Diane" are timeless indie anthems that every `90s rocker should be forced to hear.
