Comments for Hyman, Phyllis, LIVING ALL ALONEE-MAIL: jdramos@interport.net This album has the old 80's pop/r&b sound feel to it. My favorite cut on this is album is "Living All Alone" which has a jazzy blues feel to it. Phyllis' voice will take you to places you've never been. The music on the title cut "Living All Alone" is very sensual. Phyllis Hyman was a talent that was under appreicated and will be missed dearly by her beloved fans.E-MAIL: jdramos@interport.net This album has the old 80''s pop/r&b sound feel to it. That was the way of the 80s though.regardless, there are some great songs on this album, especially "Ain't You had Enough Love", "First Time Together", and the title track. One song in particular-"Old Friend"- touched Phyllis the most. Her friend, co-writer Linda Creed (with Thom Bell)- died of cancer, and this was one of the last songs she wrote. To the end of her own life, Phyllis kept this song in her live performances and was always overcome with emotion whenever she sang it. There are fast songs on the album-"Screaming At The Moon" in particular- that seem out of place with the slower material. However, this is a good song, and is a reminder of the 80s. LIVING ALL ALONE is my second-favorite album from Phyllis Hyman (the first being I REFUSE TO BE LONELY).Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
