If I knew how to fix the info above, I would. What I can do is give you the track list: Chop The Tree Love Is A Wonderful Colour Reaping The Rich Harvest As The Dragonfly Flies Lover's Day In The Cauldron Of Love Out Of Season Factory In The Desert Birds Fly (Whisper To A Scream) Nirvana

Please note that the US edition of this album substitutes "Waterline" for "Reaping The Rich Harvest", and shuffles the song order around. The Canadian version is different again. It has both "Waterline" and "Reaping The Rich Harvest", but loses "As The Dragonfly Flies". Strange....

The original American release contained a different version of "Birds Fly (Whisper to a Scream)" that doesn't contain the spoken intro: "Some things take forever, but with building bricks of trust and love; moutains can be moved". I found that on the Canadian cassette version. Is it like that elsewhere?

About the intro to "Birds Fly", the "Some things take forever..." is also found on "The Best of The Icicle Works", Beggars Banquet # 314 514 049-2.

I am about the biggest Icicle Works fan in the world. I have all of their albums (okay I don't have Permanent Damage) and this one is by far my favorite (being the first and all) It was originally issued by Beggars Banquet in March of 1984 and the tracks on the album changed when it was re-issued in July of 1986. Depending on which version you have, the tracks will vary.

I have a rather large music collection covering rock, progressive rock, jazz & progressive jazz, world, new age, blues, experimental, etc., etc. But one of my all-time favorite albums is the first Icicle Works. It is beautiful, powerful, great to listen to. Everyone should have a copy! -- Thanks.

without a doubt 10 out of 10. don't ask me why but i have two copies of the canadian lp, the uk cassette, the us cassette and the uk cd. the more music i hear, the more i think that this is the best album i will ever hear.

Jared has now found out that he is not the only World's greatest Icicle Works fan. I own all of the U.K. releases except for the original Ascending cassette E.P. (has anybody out there got a copy of this? If so please let me know the track details) and the special edition 12" Motorcycle Rider with the extra tracks Red Lightning and Let's Get Loaded (any owners please contact). Also in the Blind tour programme it says that the Icicle Works had tracks on American compilation LP's before they got their Beggars Banquet contract. It did not say what these tracks were. Anybody know? Also to add to the confusion the 'Waterline' track on the US and Canadian LP's is a different version to the B-side of Love is a Wonderful Colour. This one was produced by Hugh Jones and was only released in the UK on an obscure compilation called 'Jamming! A New Optimism for the '80's' . Luckily I have a copy of this as the new version is tons better. Also Jared didn't know about the live video. Any contacts gratefully recieved, Richard Peat.

OK. I will now correct myself. The compilation the Icicle Works appeared on before their Beggars contract was 'Merseysound Tapezine' produced by Roger Hill. It was UK produced though some copie got to the US.

The best album ever released, period.

Is there a CD out there that has Waterline on it? I already have the self-title tape (US version) but its wearing thin and I love that song! Personally think its their best song. But I can't seem to find it on Disc. Does that exist?
