Comments for Icicle Works,The, Seven Singles Deep

You will notice that this is the UK version of the album by the spelling of "Colour" in track 2, the fact that track 11 is titled "Bird`s Fly" (the original name) as opposed to "Whisper To A Scream" and that the band is called "The Icicle Works" (the band had to drop the "The" from their name for the U.S. market for some stupid reason???)

An incredible band totally over the heads of most music fans the world over. Why are so many good trax missing from the original (1985 BB), excellent compilation? I never heard a better version of Into The Mystic - EVER (not Van M, Wallflowers, ANYONE). This version misses a number of terrific cuts on the original: I Never Saw My Hometown, Let's Go Down To The River, Slingshot, The Atheist (too much reality for the Americans perhaps?), Pocketful Of Nothing & Goin' Back. Why do the record companies have to screw up such good albums on re-release???
