Album was originally released on Midwest Records , an affiliate of Sweet City Records. Donnie Iris (Ierace) was player, singer and writer for the "Jaggers" who recorded "The Rapper".

"Ah! Leah!" is one of my favorite all-time songs and I'm delighted that the Internet isn't free from a reference to it. Alas, slick AOR hard-pop, which survived the onslaught of punk, lost favor in the mid-80's. You grungemaniacs might be surprised how cleansing something like Loverboy's "Queen of The Broken Hearts" sounds after a steady diet of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Green Day, etc., et al, yada, yada, yada...

Ah! Leah is a truly great rock song. It took me forever to find it on CD. (An 80's compilation album) I hear it everyday now on a sports talk-show(680-The Fan Atlanta,GA).

I've always been a BIG fan of the way Donnie sings. His voice is just mind blowin' when he screams those high notes like there's NO tomorrow! Like I said, always been a BIG fan ever since his early days when he wrote "The Rapper". That "song" changed my life in more ways than one and it's great to see that he didn't give up like most people. Personally, I LOVE his music and I think his songwriting is simply incredible. Hopefully he'll have an opportunity to read this and check out my web site at: http://tristate.pgh.net/~orchard/ Peace, Egidio Faiella

This album, when I first heard it, was on the different side. I bought the album for the single AH-LEAH, but soon became a fan of this band. Another great tune off this one is AGNES, that rocks!!!!

"Ah! Leah!" was the song that made me sit up and notice Donnie & the Cruisers back in 1980. Over the course of the last 17 years (YIKES!), I still find myself turning up the volume whenever that song is on the radio. The Back on the Streets album really makes me think of "good time rock & roll". Even if the songs were serious, the music was always powerful enough to not let you get too worried about such things as lost loves, or being institutionalized... When I found Back on the Streets on CD, I was genuinely excited! Even if the songs are the same, I still get as much enjoyment out of them now as I did when I wore that first vinyl LP into oblivion. This is truly an enjoyable album. My personal favorite cuts from the album are "I Can't Hear You" and "Joking". If "Ah! Leah!" didn't hook me, once I had the album, those two sure did!

I got to see Donnie Iris and the Cruisers at Marietta College (in Ohio) in September 1982. One thing that really distinguished this concert was that toward the middle of the show there was a drum break and every member of the band was playing a snare drum. This culminated in the Marietta High School marching band percussion section joining the band on stage. It was truly incredible! I've noticed everyone keeps mentioning the back on the streets album, but there were some great songs from later albums, such as "Merrilee", "Tough World", and "Do You Compute?" These songs all received heavy airplay where I grew up (southeast Ohio) Mark Rice, San Antonio

I want to buy the CD that has Ah Leah on it but do not want to buy it online. Where can I get it?
Donnie Iris and the Cruisers is a local SW Pennsylvania band who hashad some hits that were known all around the country. Ah! Leah! fromthis album is one of them.If you like good rocking rock `n` roll, this album is for you. Althoughsometimes a little rough (and non-PC) the lyrics are stories in theirown right.Originally released by MCA, this CD was rereleased by Razor & TieMusic Corp.
