This album starts out nice and smooth, but by the second song and the rest of the first side, it's thunderous beats keep you jamming! Very nice! (I Love 'If').

This album is one of the finest I've ever bought. The compilation of songs is classy with surprising consistency in lyrics and theme. Janet is truly at her finest when she sings the "slow jam". My personal favorite is the unreleased "Body that Loves You". Give it a listen. It's #23 on the CD but FOREVER #1 to me.

A very long (yep, 75 minutes of music and jammin'', baby) CD by Ms. Jackson, the follow-up to RHYTHM NATION 1814 from 1989. I would call this album a 90s classic: up to this point (1993) I find it Janet''s most fluent and intimate record. She grows up a little, away from her abstinate ways into very sexy territory. The great dance/pop songs like "That''s The Way Love Goes" and "If", as well as quirky jazzy-influenced tunes make it full of fun and youth. The eversweet ballad "Again" is one of Janet''s finest sentimental moments. Besides being a huge hit for Janet, this is one modern R&B/pop album thats a triumph and a must.
