Definitely worth the money and if it was just for "That's Entertainment", a song whose lyrics Weller wrote after coming home late totally drunk (one could say arseholed) Tim Kunze

What sets "Sound Affects" above other Jam releases is that the melodic side of the band is at it''s best, and matched with the natural brilliance of Weller''s lyrics and the band''s powerful playing overall makes for an album that will always be considered a "classic".
Most Jam fans agree that this album, somewhat inscrutable when first issued, sounds fresh fifteen years later. The album`s sound is somewhat muted, and songs like "That`s Entertainment" and "Boy About Town" have alternative versions on other albums ("Snap!" and "Extras," respectively) that sound much better. Guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Paul Weller drove the band towards a Stax/Volt/Motown sound with subsequent albums.
