Comments for Annihilator, Set The World On Pan

A brilliant album from Jeff Waters. The riffing on "Braindance" will take your breath away. The tunefull singing of Aaron Randall is certainly a welcome relief from the coarse vocals of the previous albums. The power of songs such as "The Edge" and "Sounds Good To Me" will have you begging for more!!!

This is a fine, FINE album. It's all over the map. Every song is a gem. Aaron Randall is a very talented and versatile vocalist. I saw Annihilator on the tour for this album, and he even did well on the older songs that require more of a growly approach than the songs on this album. One of the best tracks on this album is "Sounds Good to Me", a dreamy sounding song about (anyone? anyone?) daydreaming. This album (as well as the concert I saw) solidified Annihilator as one of my all-time favorite bands, even if it is really just one guy (Jeff Waters) behind it all. I was under the impression that he finally had a band that he was happy with, and then King of the Kill came out, and everyone was gone. Oh well. I still think Jeff Waters is one of the great riff-mongers of all time, and I'll buy everything else he does.

This album rocks! The only thing I have to say is that its sad that I found it in the cheap bin at the music store. "Sounds Good To Me", "Snake in The Grass", "Phoenix Rising" and "Knight Jumps Queen" are all on my top 10 list. My band RoadKill covers "Sounds.." but we don't even compare to the intensity of the best Canadian metal band, Annihitator.

i love "set the world on fire" too. in america it was released through sony music and it didnt do to well. this ended annihilator''s album availability in the US. i have been getting all of their albums as imports. my favorite track is "sounds good to me" and "no zone", and i love the amazing solid-tight guitar work of the entertaininly obnoxious "brain dance". jeff, you rule!
THE THIRD ANNIHILATOR ALBUM,DIFFERENT THAN THE TWO FIRST,PLAYINGPOWER METAL."SET THE WORLD ON FIRE" AND "BRAIN DANCE" REMINDOF THEIR THRASH PAST IN A GOOD ALBUM.
