"Your Songs" is a good sampler for a lot of Elton's earlier, non-hit material--safe for any curious non-fan. However, with it's artwork and the era it represents in Elton's career, it unfortunately is included in some discographies as an early 70s release. It is not. It is, however, one of the few places to obtain a copy of "Friends"--the single from 1981 seeing as the album "Friends" is not made anymore and the lifespan of many multi-disc compilations is short.

The entire "Friends" movie soundtrack (1971, not 1981) is on "Rare Masters", a collection of rare B-sides and such which was released in the U.S. in 1992 and is still available in a music store near you. Also, THIS aforementioned compilation album was released in 1986 and is not, to my knowledge, available anymore- unless you go to a used record store...
