Comments for John, Elton, Greatest Hits 1976-1986E-MAIL: pduncan@david.wheaton.edu This collection shows the way the second decade of Elton's career still found him in excellent form. The finest moment on this album may be "Empty Garden," the tribute to John Lennon. Taupin's lyrics are passionate without being a big cliche, and Elton delivers them warmly and with strength. Elton defined the 70's, but his presence was also a huge one in the 80's, as this collection reveals.E-MAIL: griffis@ptbo.igs.net A pointless release. Get GHV3, almost same album--but better artwork.E-MAIL: mikecrawley@hotmail.com yes it had better artwork but it had "heartache all over the world" which may be elton''s worst a-side ever. it also has don''t go breakin my heart and sorry seems to be the hardest word which seem to make more sense in this adult contemporary setting than they did on gh v. 2.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
