A solid album from start to finish from Lillian Axe. This album is continually stuck in my tape deck. All tracks are great! "My Number" what can I say, its a clssic! Hey You Over Here!
E-MAIL: rasputin@airmail.net
I don't hear too much talk about this album. That's pretty unfortunate because the tracks that don't appear on the compilation are worth owning. "Come to me my sweet Diana..."

This release really started to define the Lillian Axe sound, more so than the first CD. I have to agree that the songs not included on the compilation of the first two really need to be heard. It is in my player all the time!!

This album (I discovered it by accident) has through some mechanism come to be permanently lodged in my CD player, and I have had to continually fight off those who wish they had bought it when they had the chance. Stevie's even better live than on the CD. Definitely the must-have of the discography.

This was the album that made me say, "Wow! This is some of the best stuff I've ever heard!" "All's Fair in Love and War" is my personal favorite from this album because of the varying tempos. My highschool band and I covered "Show a Little Love", and some people who saw us thought we must have been really good to have written that song, but we told them that's it's by Lillian Axe, and all they could say was, "Who?" We just said, "One damn good band." -Han

Not even a so-so song on the whole album, this one is first class!! And yes, it is definitely permanently attached to my tape AND cd players!!!

For a second album, is one work that you will like. The song are very similar, in general, to the songs in the first album. In this album, like the others Steve Blaze shows that he plays guitar very well and that he can write songs very touchful.

Why albums this incredible go unnoticed, I'll never know. The original sound and variety make the album one of the all-time best!

I saw their "Show A Little Love" on Mtv's Headbangers Ball. The next day I went out and bought "Love and War". I was in seveneth grade then and have bought every album since then. I have also been to 2 concerts. LILLIAN AXE forever!!!!

By far the best of the Lil Axe albums! I actually used to own a copy of this on CD...it was a radio promo given to me by a friend. Unfortunately I had to sell it, and have been looking to replace it ever since. I haven't found it yet, and it's been over six years now; for all I knew until now, my copy was the only one that ever existed! These dudes are right about 2 things: 1) the tracks not included on the compilation CD aren't the best (this one far surpasses their first release) and 2) if you find a copy of this on CD, get it, and don't tell anyone where you got it!

This album is pure genius. How music like this can go overlooked by the mainstream is a total mystery. When you learn these songs on guitar, they just feel right to play...another testament to Mr. Blaze. I have been and am still looking for this one on CD, as the tape that I purchased (thank GOD!) is about worn through! If I ever find a box of 'em, I'll buy em all and let you all in on it. This stuff should be played, not collected!!!

I have Lillian Axe's Love and War as well as all of their other albums, they are undoubtedly the best band in the world to me. They have a style all of their own with no copycatting of other bands. I was fortunate enough to meet them three times, two concerts and one promo, they were very down to earth, really cool. I would be interested in chatting with other fans of Lillian Axe.

I picked up love and war for one dollar only faintly remembering the bands name and I was impressed. To this day I think that it was the best dollar I spent.

As a rock radio DJ I hear a lot of music, and there's a lot of crap out there that should never had hit the radio. Lillian Axe is one band that didn't, but should have. Love and War is THE quintessential sound for a great, yet very underrated rock band. To the rockers Show A Little Love and My Number to the surreal sounds of World Stopped Turning and Ghost of Winter. These guys know how to write quality music with strong skills in the arrangements as well, and no other band puts it all into the vocals like these guys. Strong harmonys and performances, without the normal "look at me" overkill of other heavy metal bands from the same era. Lillian Axe is definately about the music...not the posture.

I got a tape copy of this from a guy off the internet for 3 bucks but I can't say I'm real happy with it (besides the cover :-) The other 3 albums to me showed a lot more talent and he seemed to be using a cleaner voice on the other discs. This is just my opinion...who am I, though?

LOVE AND WAR Is by far the best effort by lillian axe and In my own opinion a must have for anybodys collection. Ibought it when it first came out (back when music was music) and about 4 years ago i went to a music wharehouse stoe in a mall and found this album on cassette for a quater (bdand new )and $1.00 for cd and a quater for the album itself needless to say i have extra copies of the tape so anybody interested well you know the rutein...

"She was nineteen, hair black..." One of the greatest albums ever recorded . Ghost of winter is the absolute favorite of mine. Though the album got high rate in Metal Hammer, I found it extremely difficult to find this record (in Finland). Great band, the only record still missing is the first one...

What can I say...perhaps their best release ever. I'm lucky enough to have bought this cd when it was available. Then I was able to get it autographed in Merrillville,IN in Oct. of 1990. Stevie absolutely shines throughout the whole album. Of course they were even better live. Lillian Axe traders mail me. I'm looking in particular for an excellent copy of the Post-Psycho demos.

IVE SEEN THESE VIDEO'S ,HOWEVER,I DONT WHERE I CAN GET THEM ON TAPE . CAN U HELP ME?THANX!!!
E-MAIL: hlien@iw.net
First let me say that i've listened to thousands of albums and have never found one to equal Lillian Axe: Love and War. I bought the tape when it first came out because I realy liked their debut album. From then on I did'nt listen to anything else. Then like an idiot I let a friend borrow it. Needless to say it got eaten. When I looked around for another copy I could'nt find one. Then when I thought to ask a store to order one it was out of print. So if anyone has a copy to sell please get back to me!!!! If you you need money i'm willing to pay, just name your price. I'll pay quite a bit for a tape but would prefer to pay more for a cd.

Along with Appetite For Destruction and Shout At The Devil, this is one of the few albums that doesn't have one "filler" song. I first heard of them when a local radio show played "Show a Little Love." I immediately went out and bought the tape. I've since been lucky to also purchase the CD. Any buyers for the tape, please let me know
E-MAIL: wdharrison@ctnet.net
Like everybody else here I absolutely Love this album. Every song is classic. Much better than any of the bands who made it big in the 80's. If radio would have had the balls to play this album it would have been huge. But like MTV most radio stations are way too conservative. I have the tape and am desperately hitting pawn shops and used cd sores in hopes of getting lucky. Somebody should rerelease all of their cds. The demand is evidently there. Any Lillian Axe fans please E-Mail.

I finally found it! So everyone--it's still out there! (3/98) And it's just as good as everyone above me said--if not better!! This may just be the best album ever printed...

An absolute stormer of an album - not one song lets the album down. Thinking about it Lillian Axe haven't written a bad song yet (I am still hoping they will reform). The trio of Ghost Of Winter,Show A Little Love and Fools Paradise are three of th best songs I have heard. Any Lillian Axe fans - E-Mail me.

Love & War rules! I was a Club DJ here in Switzerland and the Titletrack was on my every-day playlist until I had to quit my job. ("Play more contemporary music, please!")

If you have a friend who is accusing your music about being heavy and not melodic the only yhing that you have to do is to allow him listening any song from this great album He will be convinced once for all that power and melody can be combined in a unique creative way...

E-MAIL: rainbowchaser@centuryinter.net
I had heard alot about this cd (and even saw one place where they were asking $75.00 for a USED copy!). I managed to find a copy of it and absolutely love it. With songs like "She Likes it On Top", "Show A Little Love" and "All's Fair In Love and War", this album is a must have. The songs are wonderfully structured to maximize that 80s melodic rock sound, with great guitar riffs and perfect vocal delivery . Anyone that is a fan of melodic metal and 80s metal bands NEEDS this cd! I highly recommend it.

Also, I have a HUGE collection of tapes, CD's and albums by various artists. If any of you are looking for anything in particular, let me know and I will try to help. Thank you!
