Comments for Little Feat, Shake Me Up

What seems like like the last album from a great group. A Danish singer, Sanne Salomonsen, released an album in ´94 titled "Language of the Heart", which featured Little Feat as back up (with the exclusion of drummer, Richie Hayward, who toured with Eric Clapton).

... But they've had "last albums" before. (See their album titled "The Last Record Album") I expect somethin's cookin' right now.

Their lead singer (Craig Fuller) left the band so I don't think anything is brewing. On their last tour, a female (Sean Murphy) sang most tunes. I hope they are not through but I think they are.

Craig Fuller could possibly be the only realistic and "qualified replacement for Lowell George...enough time had passed since he went to the happy hunting ground, and Fuller has long worked with and been a fan of the Feat, since his Pure Prarie League Days...without him, the band is somewhat lackluster, vocally. Barerre can still sing, but he never had the world's greatest voice, and Sam Clayton, well...lets keep him on the bongos. The chick can sing, but it's kind of like candy...too much can really be too much. Let's hope Fuller comes back in to the picture...

The new album seems to ready for release - with the chick singing. I think we'll better wait how the new Little Feat will work out. IMHO it can't be worse than Shake Me Up.

I was one of those that doubted the Feats move by using Shaun as the lead singer. My fears were unfounded. "Ain't Had Enough Fun Yet" is typical Little Feat. I really enjoyed it and did not find SM to be a negative.

For some reason, I do not like Little Feat as much with Murphy at the mic. A female lead singer just does not sound like the Feat. The music is OK but I think it is a different band. I liked Fuller much better. I wish they'd have found a male voice.

I loved every Little Feat album, even with Fuller. I though shake Me Up was still very good. I do not like Murphy nearly as much. They just do not sound like the same band with a female. It is as if its a cover band doing Feqat tunes.

Anyone saying Murphy''s not the right man to do the job obviously hasn''t seen the Feats live lately. No one can say that she doesn''t have the balls to grab the mick and sing her heart out. And the album... Well, Little Feat has NEVER made an average album (though I prefer the post-Lowell stuff) and this has to be among the finest albums thay have ever made. It''s not a second "Let it Roll" but why should it be? I LOVE IT!
