Comments for Little Feat, Time Loves a Hero

Little Feat`s sixth album, "Time Loves A Hero" firmly marks a period of transition for the band. Lowell George steps aside while Paul Barrere, Bill Payne, andKen Gradney do most of the songwriting. The track "Rocket In My Pocket" is the only song solely written by George. Payne and Barerre`s flavoring are especiallyevident on "Hi Roller" and "Red Streamliner". The album features "Day At The Dog Races", an instrumental which showcases Payne`s arrangements, and which servesas an indication of the direction the band would follow for the next few years. Also worth noting are an all-star cast of supporting artists who lend their talentsin the unlikely role of back-up. This list includes Patrick Simmons and Michael McDonald (of the Doobies) on "Red Streamliner", future full-time Feat member FredTackett on Madocello and Guitar for "Time Loves A Hero", and the Tower of Power Horn Section.
