Comments for Live, Mental Jewelrey

Mental Jewelry is filled with quotes by the Indian non-guru/ guru J. Krishnamurti. If you've ever read You are the World, by him, this will sound very familiar. Ed K. likes his stuff and was very influenced by him on this album. It is a great record filled with a lot of energy and sung by Kowalczyk with a lot of passion. I listen to MJ much more than I do TC, but that's because I grew up listening to MJ. Even if you don't fully subscribe to Krishnamurti's "no ideology/no race/no creed" philosophy (I disagree with him a lot), Mental Jewelry is an album worth having for music's sake despite the socio-political message. You don't have to agree with a band to love their music. maribel@leland.stanford.edu

This first album was an incredible listening experience. Having seen them in concert in Phila I must say that they are in for a wonderfully successful career.

One of the best albums I have ever bought. +Live+ put a passion into their music that nobody else can match. +Live+ will live FOREVER!

Live could truly be the REM/U2 superstar band of the nineties. Mental Jewelry is a MUST HAVE :-)) Throwing Copper is an incredible (!!!) accomplishement for a second release. Just check "Weeks in Chart" on your next issue of Billboard. Live really has it going for them in all the correct areas, & POWERFUL lyrics ( if you care to listen). If I had to choose the best aspect of this group it would have to be that without a doubt "Live" loves to perform live. I have already seen two shows where they headlined

This is the best album ever put out by any group. Live has truely won a place in my heart. I am from Lancaster and grew up with this album. It is deep, it is moving, and it deals with real human problems. I am so glad to see a group that is out there searching for the answers to life. Religion and spiritual issues do need to be addressed more in rock music. Ultimately the listener must come to a decision however, and I believe that Jesus is the way. Yyokehe

Well, I'm gonna have to agree with the fact that Live is definetly Great in concert... I've been to two of their shows also.. one at the Gorge, in Washington...and one in bellingham.. I bought TC last year and shortly after found out about MJ. and immediatley bought it too.. If you listen to the music and the lyrics you will see they are a very great band... somewhere up there with Metallica and Tool! well they've hit triple platinum with TC and It wouldn't suprise me if the third album will be better than the first two..!

This album, which created the Live as we know it, is an incredible combination of music and politcal statement. It is good to finally see a groupd who not only cares about selling records, but making records which are more then simply noise. I recommend this album to anyone who like Alternitave music and who has time to sit down and listen to what Ed is saying. It's really a shame that the radio completely killed TC

Live sucks ass. ''Nuff said. -CHRIS HUBER
Live had two songs play on MTV (Operation Spirit and PainLies On The Riverside), but don`t let that dissuade you.Live`s music is a fast, heavy, percussive sort of politicalalternative sort of style. The entire album is a societalcommentary, but still very listenable.
