in comparison with the last LP, this is cleaner, more electronic, far more vicious and slartlingly cool. although the last album was very good, this is brilliance - Richard butler is on his finest form since "Book of Days", in terms of lyrics, and "Forever now" with regards to vocal diversity. Subtle, damaged, intelligent and unforgettable. Buy that man a pint.

This album is intoxicating and leaves me breathless. Mr. Butler''s voice has never been more pungent and clear. The lyrics and tunes keep me singing well after the music has stopped.
After a three year hiatus, these boys are back, big time! The first album took a while to grow on me, with the exception of "Am I Wrong" - a fabulous song, but i fell in love with this one immediately. However autobiographical the lyrics may be, their themes are universal. Richard Butler`s voice is in top form, and with the excellent backing of the band, there`s enough variety here to please everyone. "Sweet Thing" is reminiscent of the "Talk Talk Talk" era, while "More Than Money" has that industrial sound, and "Fall On Tears" and "It Hurts When I Laugh" are more along the lines of heart-felt ballads. Check out the strings on "7 Years" - love the arrangement! If you are a fan, give this one a listen - you won`t be disappointed!
