Comments for Lovett, Lyle, and hist Large BandE-MAIL: banduccs@ucs.orst.edu Didn't you love Lyle singing "Stand by Your Man" as the credits rolled at the end of the Crying game?E-MAIL: jeffrey_davenport@baylor.edu No other artist could pull off a song like "Here I Am." It's spoken lines are nothing short of poetic, and the chorus serves to, more than amply, counteract the whisperings.E-MAIL: mcwillie@utxvms.cc.utexas.edu This is the best album ever recorded. Once is enough shows so much insight, so much power, and so much talent. This one song characterizes what Lyle is all about. Good Intentions, Cryin' Shame, Here I Am...all classic Lyle. If you love blues, if you love jazz, if country doesn't cause you to want to kill others...buy this album.E-MAIL: jeffrey davenport@baylor.edu Amen, to you, brother MOWILLIE at UT (see above). ........make it a cheeeeeseburger. If anyone out there has a chance to see Mr. Lovett in concert, I highly encourage such an outing. His stage shows are funnier than any stand-up act you're liable to see at a comedy club and the music is breathtaking. Lyle has the most humble stage presence you've ever seen and he conveys a simple message onstage that most artists ignore: "I am really impressed that you people would actually come and pay to hear me sing. Thank you very much. I'll give you what you want." What a musician and (gasp!) celebrity. Lyle should be well known for his musical talents...not his personal choices concerning who he spends his time with.E-MAIL: donzelle@aol.com Lyle`s amazing blues/country crossover.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
