(One more time, with feeling) From Washington D.C. Murder Capitol of the world. Four Rockers with a hell of a lot a Soul. These guys brought together the Soul and Funk of R & B with the energy of Heavy Rock in ways that groups like Living Colour never did or will do.

My band ( A LESSER SQUID ) in Cleveland, Ohio had the Opportunity to open for Lucy Brownback in the Summer of 1993. Their music was a big inspiration to our band. They are the coolest bunch of guys who are totally for the promotion of free-speech among the musical realm. Their attitudes are strong and fully charged, yet they are modest to the fact that they can play the hell out of their instruments. I only wish that they were still around. A great Band to see if you get the chance. I rate them a 4 stars for sure. The energy never seemed to cease.... My Congrates guys... Chris Andrews...

One of my favorite bands of all time. I was at the gig, in 1994 I believe, that had to be cancelled because Gene had passed. I was crushed. Their music, while being hard rock and not very suited for airplay, had a very urgent yet urban message. Luis, the guitarist, now owns and operates 'Atomic Music' in College Park and is a fantastic businessman with a thriving store. I couldn't be happier for them. For those of you are trying to find Lucy Brown mp3s, both the LP and the EP are out of print, but I have them both, and I posted them in entirety on Napster. You should be able to get them without a problem. Thanks for remembering, everybody. Feel free to write me if you'd like to discuss this band long gone, yet pivotal to my life.

I saw them do an awesome cover of 'Missippi Queen' geez 10 years ago at the old 9:30. I have the CD and had a copy of the 'Lucy Brown' tape which since dissappered..I'd love to get that tape again. I always thought they has the stuff to make it big.
