Comments for MERZBOW, Noizhead

Noizhead comes in a bronze four-flap digipak (+ shaped) with pictures of Akita on the inside of the flaps. This music was recorded live in London in July, 1995. The recording is a bit odd, sounding as if the music were being performed in another room; whereas most Merzbow recordings feature phalanxes of sound coming at you from all directions, this recording sounds like the noise is concentrated in a small, bubbling, boiling black iron cauldron of sound, right in front of you - as if you were peering in at the action inside. As such, the recording provides a different, if not completely pristine, Merzbow sound, not unlike the rumblings and churnings on Music for Bondage Performance. Nonetheless, this is yet another interesting Merzbow release.
