I have been a fan of Max Webster and Kim Mitchell for over 10 years and I am glad to say that I saw Kim Mitchell live twice. One of those times was in his hometown of Toronto. These guys are the most underrated band that I have come across. Alex Liefson of Rush used Kim Mitchell's guitar to record Rush's first album. I recently was pleasantly surprised to find two of their cd's here in the states. Diamonds, Diamonds(greatest hits), and Universal Juveniles (in my opinion, one of the best albums in rock histoey). If anyone has any info on either MW or KM, please get in touch with me.

Next to "Mutiny Up My Sleeve", the best album recorded by these guys from the Great White North. How about a reunion album - please!
Max Webster was a product of the early to mid-seventiesToronto rock scene. Following much the same path as Rushto their success, the two band`s histories were often intertwined. MW played local high schools in much the samefashion as Rush did, which perhaps lead to the associationwhich appeared later on as the bands grew and became successful on a national scale. Kim Mitchell, lead singer with theband, collaberated with Pye Dubois (Who co-wrote Tom Sawyerwith Neil Peart for Rush) on every album. Dubois` lyrics are always tongue in cheek, but somehow manage to carry abit of philosophy under the humor. Tracks from this albumare mainstays on Classic Rock stations across Canada, especiallythe paradoxical Let Go The Line (paradoxical because of theballad like qualities and the serious tone, this song was writtenby Terry Watkinson, the group`s keyboardist), and the catchy A Million Vacations. Anthem, the groups label (andnot at all surprising, Rush`s as well) has re-released MW`s studio albums, the group has been defunct since 1982, but Kim Mitchell has gone on in a solo career to become a RockIcon in Canada (his Might As Well Go For A Soda was usedas an anthem for Mothers Against Drunk Driving a few yearsback).
