For unfathomable reasons, this is one of the highest selling albums of all time. Virtually every song sounds the same, Mr. Loaf clearly has the prog-rock drinking tune formula down pat. There's nothing really wrong with the album, its just sad that such a mediocre piece of work could be so popular.

You have got to be kidding jlowe. Bat out of hell was/is a classic teen romantic album with great imagery and power. Too bad you can't hear the word but instead get lost in the tunes.

The song "Bat out of hell" is one of the best, which was ever made. More than 6 minutes and many different melodys. Great!

Bat Out Of Hell is truly one of the greatest musical masterpieces ever recorded. Tracks 7 - For Crying Out Loud & 5 - Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad - being the most sensitive and moving songs ever!

A magical set of songs, varying from the heavy anthemic rock of "Bat out of hell" and "All revved up...", through the novel "Paradise..." (which has an amazing video) and the rock-and-roll style "You took the words..." to the deeply moving lyrics of "Heaven can wait" and "For crying out loud" and the classic ballad "2 out of 3 ain't bad". Whoever says these songs sound the same hasn't heard them. Period.

How can this album get a lower rating than the the, if you compare the two, mediocre "Bad Attitude". This is a fantastic album, suplying both great variation in musical- and productionstyle. Only the follow-up, Bat2, and Jim Steinman´s extraordinary "Original Sin" is more excellent than this timeless set of tunes.
