All songs written by Jim Steinman

The title pretty much sums it up; more of the same from Meatloaf, an extremely popular artist with extremely limited talent. Only die-hard Loaf fans can tell this album apart from its predecessor. Why is this man so popular?

After finding his voice again, he made Bat out of hell II, a good continuing of the first part. The song are typical Meat Loaf style.

There are no comments that can possibly do this album the justice it deserves! This is the best music money can buy. As to the popularity of this multi-talented singer/actor - he is so popular because he is the best.

Because Meatloaf is the most powerfull singer of our times, everyone has to decide either to love or to hate him. I love his great voice and the wagnerian style the music of Mr.Steinman has. How can anyone dare not to accept that Meat is the most talented Rock Singer of this century ? Have you ever tried to listen to 'Objects in the rear view mirror..' and afterwards to a Simply Red song ? This must make clear : This man is unique talented and he is to be respected because he made his success with his voice and not because he is a good looking wannabe-singer as so many others are.

"Anything for love" is the greatest song ever recorded and the album is also the greatest one. Why? Jim Steinman wrote, MeatLoaf sang and the videos were directed by Michael Bay. Actually, Meat handles Steinmans song so well that it makes it reach incredible levels. Neither one of them reaches the same heights without each other. Compare "Objects" and "Life is a lemon". If you listen to them itīs hard to figure out that they come from the same album AND songwriter. BatII #1!!!

When I bought the album, I thought nothing could match the original, but it comes very close. Certainly "Anything for love" is his best track since "Bat Out of Hell", but this whole album is a classic, and other tracks such as "Objects..." and "Life is a lemon..." show that, not only can Steinman write a great tune and great lyrics to go with it, Meat Loaf can capture all the emotions of these songs with his incredible voice. He's surely got one of the greatest voices in rock music; if that wasn't obvious already, this album proves it. Try listening to a Jim Steinman album (e.g. "Bad for good"). The songs are great, but there's something missing - that incredible voice.

The medium is the messageand the message here is:Sometimes life is a bitch and you have to deal with it. Why is this man popular? He tells it like it is in true Rock & Roll fashion, the angast, the power of love, the fight with the dark side of depression, the loss of the father figure: It's all here and if you play it loud in a dark room with just you and your thoughts, Rock & Roll really does come through. A 10 rating.
