"Fade to black" is my favourite Metallica's ballad. It was inspirate me for very long time (of coures in positiv meaning).

This was the album that got me started on Metallica back in '85. "Fight Fire With Fire", "Creeping Death", "Fade To Black" "Trapped Under Ice", classic tunes! Looking back now, the main ones that sound kinda weak are "Escape" and the title track - the ones with the obvious Mustaine influence. I always felt you went either way, Metallica or Megadeth, but not both. I was always Metallica! Elektra, when are you going to re-master this one? You've already put out three different versions of "Kill 'Em All" and RTL still sounds like a home recording. I love it anyway.

My favourite Metallica album. "Ktulu..." is my favourite heavy metal cut. Melody balanced with power - a pretty rare combination in entire contemporary music. Rating:10.1 (I wish I could).

THE BEST METAL ALBUM OF ALL TIME! No one even comes close. Not Pantera Not Slayer Not Megadeth Not Cannibal Corpse Not ANYONE! Which makes it all the more unbelievable that this is the same band that put out maybe the worst metal album of all time "LOAD"! Metallica invented modern metal and then killed it. Talk about contradiction.

Best Metallica album. Reason I think this album is even better then Kill 'em All is due to its variety of sounds. All tracks are excellent without a doubt, except for Trapped Under Ice. Metallica KICKS ASS

This album was perfectly arranged! It's grabs you're attention at the begining, kicks you're ass in the middle, and leaves you wantin' fuckin' more! By far the best metal album ever!

everyone a winner(except escape-what a cruddy song) the only thing wrong with this album is that it started every motherfucking thrash band off on the idea of starting their albums with an acoustic intro- AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!! (oh and it has the best metallica cover artwork as well)

Yeah i agree with all of u guys....definitely the best metal album............i have to say the guy who says nothing comes close, reig in blood does come very close!, but not really this albums best fuck yeah!!! OLDER METALLICA RULES!!!!!!!!

this is my favorite album by metallica because i enjoy the song fade to black. i usually dont care for ballads but that ballad rocks your goddamn ass off
