Load? Metallica? Where are Metallica in Load? Load is a good album, but not a metal album... Metallica was pasion...now is fashion...

I love Load! That's one kick rear album. James' lyrics kick. And the riffs are awesome. Load is Metallica!

Thanks for the cheesy album Metallica. If they could get any weirder they would. What happened while they were gone? Maybe the next album will be different. hint..hint..

Sort of a slightly heavier version of Def Leppard now.

This is the worst Metallica album, if they keep going in this direction they should disband soon. Kirk Hamett Doesn't did a valable solos on this one, he just plays with is Wah wah. A sad ending for a great band.

This album is so very cool. My favorite song is " Until It Sleeps " that kicked ass. They were terrific on the 1996 Music Awards even though almost everyone who performed on that show sucked, they were a very cool part of the show and I enjoyed it.

If Cliff Burton was still alive, none of this crap The Band Former Known As Metallica is putting out would exist. I blame a large portion of their downfall on Jason Newsted's entry into the band. LOAD is the perfect name, a LOAD. Pretty pathetic. REAL Metallica fans hate this album.

A more appropriate name for this album would have been "Until you Sleep".

L O A D O F (fill in the blank here). I have yet to hear this CD in its entirity, but the stuff they play on the radio makes me almost like their last CD. To disagree with a previous message, I don't blame Jason Newstead for the downfall of what was at one time THE MIGHTY METALLICA. My opinion may be biased, for Jason is a local boy and has ties to Lansing and some of it's musicians, but listen to Flotsam and Jetsam - Doomsday For the Deciever, there is not one hint of the CRAP that he so blindly puts out with James, Kirk, and Lars. Sometimes i wonder (and I know this is a really horrible thing to say about anyone) what would have happened if they had all died in that bus accident that took the life of their music guru, Cliff Burton. Wouldnt it be great to be able to say METALLICA RULES and not get laughed at?

Same critic's razor. It ain't a bad album by no means. Actually, I like this album more than any other Metallica album. And no I'm not an alternative geek- I love almost all metal bands like Paradise Lost, Celestial Season, Carcass, Death, Flotsam And Jetsam, Queensryche, whatever. The point is Metallica hasn't lightened their sound at all- to me, the music represents an angrier Metallica- not just standard thrash metal. Same thing happened with Flotsam And Jetsam- they changed their style drastically on Cuatro into a less thrash sounding album and the critics trashed it. You are all acting stupid about this so shut the FUCK up!

Wow,men!That's a good one,I think.And F***k those damned ones who say it isn't.

This was the worst set of songs ever put out. Come on now I know age can change things but please not this bad. YOU GUYS SOUND LIKE CRAP!!!!!!!!!!! Play for the love of music not the money.
E-MAIL: youtraitors@assholes.com
YOU ASSHOLES!!! Any band that stays the same forever become the biggest fucking joke in the world. Just ask KISS. This is not my favorite MetallicA album but I have the decency to respect them and hope they get better, but you dickwads dropped them at the first sign of change. You're traitors the whole fuckin' lot of ya!

This cd sucks! Metallica sells out. Looks like Metallica was going for the soft poppy tunes of Hanson and Alanis Morisette on this cd. What a bunch of hyporcrits Metallica turned out to be. They said how much they hated all the make up wearing bands of the 80s then they go and wear make up. I think these fags should go kiss each other in some more magazines instead of makeing piece of shit soft rock cds.

well its not brilliant but its definitely better than ''reload'' or ''the black album''
supe727@aol.com
This is a great album, despite what these so called fans are saying. Perhaps it doesn't have the intensity of the earlier stuff, but it is a perfect sequel to the Black Album. King Nothing is a follow up to Enter Sandman (which explains why they say Off to Never Never Land at the end). The ballads are great. Excellent riffs. Great Album.
A Good Album, but not better than the Black Album!

There was NOTHING wrong with Load or Reload. Had this been another band's debut CD, and not Metallica's, Load: 1) Wouldn't have been reviewed by any metal magazines. Therefore no 3/5 or less ratings. 2) It would have been seen as a rock CD, not a 'soft rock' CD. It isn't exactly soft, and it wouldn't have scored lower than 4 stars out of 5. The thing is, Load and Reload were rock CDs. They weren't metal. They were also pretty darn good in terms of sound quality and production - not to mention most bands have failed at the 'mainstream cross-over' attempt. Eg., Megadeth. Both CDs have songs that dwarf most nu-metal bands' efforts today or heavier rock bands by a long shot. Before extreme 'anti-sellout' fans out there start going on about haircuts or some stupid comment like 'Ride The Lightning' was a sellout because it was #100 in the US charts long ago (which it was), know one fact --> A lot of metal bands don't sell out because they get off on the underground scene, but because they simply can't write good rock songs with heavy elements! No way! Metallica released 'The Unforgiven II' and 'Until It Sleeps', two gems of 90s rock music. Also, when you start talking about how Metallica went rock - don't say this began with the 'Black Album'. It didn't. The 1991 release was a cross-over into the mainstream, but it was metal, not rock. The riffs of 'Enter Sandman' and 'Sad But True' aren't thrash songs, but they're still heavy, and a lot heavier than stuff of the Load-era.
