Comments for Moody Blues, Days of Future Passed

The combination of Rock & classical music extends to the contents of the album. One can hear repeated motifs within the "songs" and between them, complete with variations... Many years ago I used this record to demonstrate that pop compositions can be as complex as any classical pieces. The MFSL (gold) edition is a bit better sounding - but the difference is not as dramatic as the (doubled) price may imply.

I love this album! Its combination of classical sounds with a beat is just wonderful, especially for dancing. The whole theme is wonderful, from the rising of the sun with the faint-to-loud throbbing gong roll, to the end of "Nights in White Satin" with the resounding gong crash. An excellent, excellent album.
Performed by the Moody Blues with the London FestivalOrchestra, conducted by Peter Knight. Presents the day as a never-ending cycle.
