Since their introduction to the local music scene in the early 90''s, The Moon Festival have given Texas a taste of British rock, with a twist. Shrine incorporated influences from early Mission U.K. guitar licks and Church like lyrics to create a tasteful blend of alternative rock. Fans of Elvis Costello, The Beatles, and Crowded House would likely find their second release, Tornillo, (available through Tortilla records) of particular interest. Recent sponsorship from Bud Lite has enabled The Moon Festival to look forward to the release of their third full legth album. The album, to be entitled Sugar Pill, will provide a power pop punch to new and old fans alike. Musical comparisons to the Jam, Clash, and Beatles will await old and new fans alike, as the Moon Festival continues to make strides in the Dallas/ Fort Worth metroplex.
