"Vlad Drac." the lead singer of Mr. Bungle, is actually Mike Patton of Faith No More.

on egg, the part that goes "Rise from your grave" is from Altered Beast, the game that came with Sega Genesis when it first came out. Also, the parts at the end of Stubb a Dub where the guy goes "where's the fucking beer?" is Dennis Hopper from the movie Blue Velvet. Rusty Sweetser

co-produced by John Zorn, esperimental jazz-noise guru.

Also the "I want you to hurt me" sample that is used on the album is Isabella Rossellini from "Blue Velvet" as well.

I'd really like to hear something of Mr. Bungle but I live in Holland, and although I have searched for a long time, I can't find a single record store that has even heard of Mr.Bungle. It's not in the computer so they can't help me find an album of Mr.Bungle. Can you please tell me a dutch record store or give me the adress of a dutch rocord company that CAN help me? Thank you.

Is it possible to get any of the earlier demo albums: "The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny" "Bowel of Chili" "Goddammmit, I Love America" "OU818"?????????????????????

There is a select group of Mr. Bungle/Faith no more fans in Australia desparate to get their hands on any of the Mr. Bungle demo tapes. If anyone knows where we can get these (by mail I guess) please give us the details. We are also currently hanging out for the FNM tour which starts here in about a month. Thanx, Jizlobber

At the end of Egg, there is a segment of sound that resembles voices and background noise that sounds like a train....does anyone know what this is or where it came from?
E-MAIL: demafleez@utexas.mail.edu
About the bit at the end of Egg, it sounds to me like Patton Dunn and a few others are running around at night and trying to hide from cops under a train bridge. You can hear things suggesting it was at night like "hide under the shadows" but i don't know anymore than that. Does any one know where I can find a copy of the movie Mr. Bungle? I belive i saw it on David Letterman or something like that a long time ago.It was black and white and looks like it was made in the 50's or something...

The backwards segment spliced into the end off "Egg" is from the top of the tune, but is an outtake of (at least) the vocal track. Also the mix is not quite the same. Fans who have listened to this album millions of times will be able to tell that it is a different take-the effect is kind of eeire, as the vocal becomes more "real" and less like the recording you have memorized. Several samples from "Carousel" are from a pinball machine by Williams, but I don't know the name. Sorry. If you think these guys are bizzare on record, then you haven't seen their live show. It is by far the strangest thing (somewhat disturbing as well) I have ever paid money to see. VERY serious fans may e-mail me, as a member in my band (Itsy Bitsy Spiders, Tucson AZ) has a videotape obtained from Kristin Yee, which has the never-shown-on-MTV video for "Travolta" ("Quote Unquote" to late buyers--TRACK 1) as well as some stuff shot by a roadie for the band. A homemade video for "My Ass is on Fire" is part of the fun.

There is an old 1950's-ish health film entitled "Mr Bungle", that I have never seen in it's entirety, but an excerpt is included in "Pee Wee's Playhouse", a live Pee wee stage show, available on video. It's where the "Mr Bungle goes to lunch..." section comes from. BY THE WAY, GREAT PAGE!

John Zorn is actually the main producer of the album, not just co-producer. The is can best be heard in the parts in between (I actually believe it is him playing alto-sax at those spots. In fact: WITHOUT JOHN ZORN'S HELP THIS ALBUM WOULDN't HAVE BEEN THIS GOOD. LONG LIVE JOHN ZORN. FUCK PAVAROTTI LONG LIVE MIKE PATTON.

Their self titled 1991 album was great. I grew up with Trey (Mr. Scummy) and I Remembere his dog, "Stubb". He was a small dog with no tail that was discovered by his family in Redding, Ca. If you ever read this Trey, Spaghetti Head says AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH purple boogers!!!!!!! Muah, muah, muah, muah, muah

Anyone familiar with the 'missing verse' in 'Egg'? (that comes after the 'wishing life was poached'line) It is tough to figure out.... Here goes my interpretation: "I can't see two different (???) It's when you get no love you give and the (?).... I just want to fertilize you!" You can see the obvious holes... (in fact the last line is the only one I am sure of) As for the pinball games, most of the samples are from 'Cyclone'. (it was in my parents resort so I'm VERY familiar with it). Also, the pinball game 'Earthshaker' has a sample at the beginning of 'my ass is on fire'. 'Funhouse' (with Rudy the star) has some samples too. Hope this helped a little... Samples from David Lynch's "Blue Velvet" are found throughout the album; I believe I've counted three or four samples. Before the sample of "What do you want?...I want you to hurt me..", there are sounds from Kyle MacGlaughlin crying on a bed in the movie, then it switches to another scene. I have John Zorn's Naked City, which is a very good album with lots of great covers. I can't wait for the new Bungle album.

I have a pre-release of the album and there are loads of stuff from Super Mario Brothers in it. On the released album most of it has been removed or covered up. Did Nintendo put their foot down? Also, on the demo of Slowly Growing Deaf there is a reference to "Underwater Love" was this removed beecause of the song on the Real Thing? I need to know it's keeping me up at night. OK I'm sad...I'll admit it...!

I'm trying to compile a complete list of samples from all three releases at www.bunglefever.com/faq.html ...please email me anything that you see missing. Thanks!
Note: `Quote Unquote` was called `Travolta` on early pressings.
