One of the top 20 albums to take with you on a deserted island for the rest of your life. Indeed a pure necessity of ones musical library.

"I feel so extraordinary". Perhaps Bernard's greatest moment in life. True Faith is a necessity.

Note that the LP edition (and US cassette edition) only has the first twelve songs. However, the CD edition sadly shortens The Perfect Kiss (my favorite) by 40 seconds. The UK cassette edition has (had?) 28 total songs (the second tape adds Cries and Whispers, Bizarre Dub Triangle, Shellcock and Dub-vulture).

True Faith is IMHO the best song New Order ever recorded. The remix is sublime.

This is one of my favorite albums at the moment, I love all the songs, True Faith and Blue Monday in particular. Necessary for all real New Order fans.
Double CD collection of singles and fairly rare B sides.Additional Comments by nickd@compnews.co.uk: Factory Records Manager Tony Wilson wanted a CD of all the singles to play in his car, which is why Substance was done.

There is no way you can go wrong with this album. The best compilation album ever, and the seminal New Order release. Even those who have never previously heard much of New Order should get this. The exquisite beauty of songs like '1963', 'Thieves Like Us, 'Perfect Kiss' and also the musical breakthrough that was 'Blue Monday'. Buy this. Now.
