This is my favorite album. I have been a fan for several years now. When this came out, it completely altered a-ha's image and style. If you compare it to Det er enna tid, there's a huge difference. Of course, that was just Morten.

Wonderful album. Slender Frame is an excellent love song. Early Morning and Rolling Thunder are two best songs Crying in the Rain done well - Morten's voice is excellent!!!!!

A bit of a departure, musically, compared to a-ha's other work; "E.S.W.M." is darker and more blues-ey, but a success nevertheless.

This is a great LP, though I don't like all the songs on it. "Ealry Morning" and "East of the sun..." are the two best songs, small outstanding pop symphonies. If you liked A-Ha in their heydays you should really sheck out Morten Harket's solo album "Wild Seed" and Paal Waaktaar's album with Savoy titeled "Mary is Coming" - two great albums which both are better than any A-Ha-album with the possible exeption of "Memorial Beach".

The turning point for A-ha came with this album, where they evolved from somewhat frivolous teenyboppers to mature purveyors of gloom and foreboding. 'East of the Sun', 'Rolling Thunder', 'Early Morning' and 'Slender Frame' show Waaktaar's emergence as a skilful songwriter. Their cover of 'Crying in the Rain' is aptly solemn.

The second best a-ha album ever, only beaten by Scoundrel Days, This is A-ha''s most varying album from the heavier "Colde River" and "sycamore Leves" to beatuful "Crying in the Rain" and "Seemingly" My favorites on this album is "Slender Frame"
Their fourth album; "Crying In The Rain" is a cover version of a Carole King song.
