I just bought one yesterday. Right from the bat, I knew I made a good choice. The selections were excellent.

Perfect lyrics for a rainy day...

Perfect for a casual fan. "Don't Stand So Close To Me '86" is HORRIBLE in comparison to the original. The absence of the original is what keeps this album from being totally perfect, and the new version provides evidence of why the Police were best not putting out a sixth album. The other eleven songs more than make up for this tragedy. The song isn't THAT bad if you look at it from a novelty point of view, but it serves as a big, awkward hole in the middle of an otherwise perfect compilation.

It's the perfect album for someone who likes The Police but want to go no further, and is essential for anyone who even minorly likes The Police.

I heard this and will buy it, at some point. I disagree and think that the '86 version of Don't Stand So Close to me is superior to the original. Great set, but then again I may pick up the Classics instead of the singles.

This is the first Police CD I bought, while I was looking for "Synchroncity II" not knowing what the song was called. As it turns out, I liked the rest of the CD and bought two others. My only regret is that I didn''t buy "The Classics" instead opting to buy the older, out of print version. Because I could have had the original "Don''t Stand So Close To Me". But the rest made me realize that I liked this band a long time ago and probably didn''t realize it. Since I bought this album, my guitar chordal work has exploded into something cool and this CD is the reason. So if you happen to like ONE Police track you see on here then get it because the rest are soooo great. De Do Do Do De Da Da Da isn''t all I have to say about this CD.
