The Portland, Oregon, based band was known as Seafood Mama before it went "big time" as Quarterflash.

I love Quarterflash!! In Italy the band is not many famous, but everypeople remember the sound of HARDEN MY HEART. I you want to know via email any people that love Quarterflash.

This first album is a solid piece of musicianship. The sax playing is superbly done and well placed in the songs. The listener is treated to music that is performed very well and to equally good songwriting. This record is a welcome addition to anyone's collection.

I agree with the above comments of "tom3." This is a very well played record. It's now available in CD. "Williams Avenue" is a highlight with a jazzy approach to the song.

The Quarterflash album is as fine a pop-rock album as was any ever produced. I rank it right up with BB's 'Pet Sounds', RL Jones' 'Pirates', and 'Meatloaf'. Everyone should own it. HEAR THAT, RHINO ???

The album QUARTERFLASH was released the year I graduated high school, HARDED MY HEART is etched into my mind with the rest of my fondest memories of my youth. I would like to know if they are still together, do they still tour, and where can I find indept information on the band members. If anyone knows, I would appreciate it if they would E-mail me, thanks,

I have every thing they have done from the four main albums, to the soundtracks to Night Shift and Fast Times at Ridgemont High, to their original singles of "Harden My Heart" and "City of Roses" as Seafood Mama. I even have an unreleased 1995 album complete with five new songs. "Sad But True" is an amazing song. All of this, and I still can't get enough of Rindy Ross's voice and sax playing, Marv's insightful lyrics and the rest of Quarterflash

QUATERFLASH- This is album has 2 great cuts (In my opinion.) "Harden My Heart" and "Find Another Fool". I think fans of Pat Benatar will find the simularities between Rindy Ross and Ms. Benatar Uncanny...Plus Rindy play a really mean Sax... Especially on "Find Another Fool". Check this one out. Don in Philly

Great album (obviously), but how come no one mentions "Right Kind Of Love," one of the best songs on the album? Just wondering! P.S. Thank goodness for webtv; I thought I was the only person who appreciated Quarterflash! Check out their new greatest hits compilation.

I agree with everyones glowing comments on this album. But one missed detail about "Find Another Fool". There's a Violin or Fiddle & Sax duet at the end of the song and belive it or not, it rocks! Never heard anything like it before or since. Ms. Ross is an incredible singer. She sings the excellent lyrics so sensualy, with just enough mystery that Madonna lookes like an even cheeper whore in compairson. Rindy's prescence in the songs is most sexy. With just enough mystery to tease you. (i.e. they way shes says "Oh, Yea" during the gutar solo in Valerie.

"Quarterflash" went to #1 in several countries and #8 in the United States. This album sold over a million copies and includes two top 20 hits with "Harden My Heart"(#3 in 1982), and "Find Another Fool"(#16 in 1982). It alo had several other charting singels, such as "Right Kind Of Love", and "Try To Make It True". This is my all-time favorite album and group!

I am trying to locate a copy of an old Quarterflash video, in which there are people playing mannequins. If I recall, the video was for the song "Take Me To Heart". My wife played a mannequin in that video. Her birthday is coming up, and I'd like to locate a copy of it as a surprise for her. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Michael Pliska

I met Rindy several years ago at the peak of the popularity in 1982-83. I still remember how nice she was. Mark

where did they come from and where did they go? How could a band producing this quality of music be so ephemeral in the music world. Loved absolutley everything about their sound. Always thought they were from australia where the politics were 1/4 bullshit, 1/4 truth, 1/4 faith and one quarterflash. Time for a reunion tour methinks.
Quarterflash`s debut album. Band members were Rindy Ross, Jack Charles, marv Ross, Rich Gooch, Brian David Willis, and Rick DiGiallonardo. The single "Harden My Heart" was a hit.

Quaterflash had a great hit in Australia with Harden my Heart. The Back into Blue album was not as successful, but i personally found it brilliant, and have owned it since it's release. LOng live quaterflash....

Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics to "Williams Ave."? Great song! Great band! Thanks. Free Rider

Definitly one of my favorite bands! Rindy has the most powerful voice. Does anyone know (or know where to find) the lyrics to the song "Valerie"? Thanks.
jta1966@msn.com
How about a reunion tour with a co-headliner like The Motels or Pat Benatar. I think that the are still some Quarterflash $$$'s out there. Missing My Favorite Sax Player ~ Jon PS Check out Candy Dulfer if you get a chance!!!

I enjoyed my first Quarterflash performance as at their Cycle Oregon performance in 2003. All of the band's marvelous pieces still fit together around the perfect hub: Rindy Ross. Such a powerful sound. Rindy's beautiful voice and perfect balance. Virtuoso bass, drums and guitar. I can't understand why this band isn't still together and booked solid.

Rich Gooch now plays with the Portland, OR based X-Angels.
