***1/2 (5 star scale)-- This album was very overlooked because of it being their first major label release. Some fine cuts on it, and man do I wish I would have seen them on this tour. PRIME CUTS-- "Get Up","You are the everyting","world Leader Pretend", "Orange Crush","Turn you inside out", and the untitled song. --je.teel

I've never heard an album this good before!!!!! Except "Sven-Ingvars" latest album.

Green is the album that R.E.M. last toured for, except for Monster

The least inspired REM album. They sound like self-parody at times. "Pop Song. . ." is not bad, "Stand" is nice fluff, but overall the album is murky and boring.

GREEN is definately the best album EVER ! It has some quite songs like Hairshirt and You are the everything, but also rock-hard-rock (in perticular Orange Crush which is my all-time favourite).It's the ultimate combination of folk and rock !

It's not a bad album, it just seems that way compared to the rest of their work. People who love this album unequivocally must live with the fact that it contains "Stand."

The last good R.E.M. album. Their best. The guy above is right, though. There's no excuse for "Stand."

This is the last raw R.E.M. album, and it has a lot to offer. We now find R.E.M. fixed within the spotlight, but the band sure doesn't act like it as of yet. "Orange Crush" is just plain awesome, and "Pop Song '89" is just plain kinky (you just HAVE to see the video...). The top-10 "Stand" is the quirkiest song on the LP, and it could easily stand as the worst. However, "worse" on the R.E.M. scale is still quite competent on the scale for everyone else. Green won't disappoint.

I 'd like to say I completely aggree with all the great appreciation I read. Unfortunately R.E.M, in France , is only known for Out of Time and the "Everybody hurts" song. The GREEN Album, in a way is a quite representative of REM work, a mix of all they can do. Personnaly, Orange Crush end Hair Shirt are my favourite !! Hope a new album will follow ( Monster was excellent !)

I love this album almost as much as i love "Fables", meaning that its one of the best albums R.E.M. has ever made! I could live without Stand, but the rest of the album is great, almost every song!

I think R.E.M is excellent band, and i do love stand as one of their best songs.(unlike evry one else in the net as i see)

"You Are The Everything" is the best REM song written...viva la Green

I love Green. Every track on it is brilliant. Stand is a great pop song, and it''s only people who have an obsession with being cool that could dismiss it. I also love Shiny Happy people by the way.
