If you're unfamiliar with her work, this cross section of her mid-period work is probably the best introducton. Includes her best known compositions ("Diamonds & Rust," "Love Song to a Stranger") and some of her most memorable Dylan covers ("Forever Young," "Simple Twist of Fate"), as well as great versions of Stevie Wonder's "Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer," Violetta Para's "Gracias A'la Vida," John Lennon's "Imagine" and a live version of "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down."

I think the title should have been THE BEST OF JOAN BAEZ 1971-1977 or something like that because one would think it includes all her biggest hits. Still, this is an essential collection. "Diamonds And Rust" is mysterious and thoughtful, live "Forever Young" is beautiful, "Simple Twist..." is a `70s rocker, and there''s so much more including a live version of her 1971 #1 hit "The Night They Drove..." and a cover of John Lennon''s peace anthem "Imagine". Beautiful...
