Comments for Rolling Stones, Steel Wheels

This is the Stones' slickest album ever, and their first all-digital release. The lyrical content doesn't quite cut it, but at least the LP sounds good. Steel Wheels is most notable for containing "Mixed Emotions," the Stones' last top-10 hit to date.

Way too slick and overblown for a Stones album. This doesn't sound like the same band that made Beggars Banquet Exile on Main St. and Let it Bleed. It is worth buying, however, if only for Mixed Emotions and Blinded By Love which are good on their own level.

Keith sings two good songs: Can't be seen and Slipping Away. I think the album is pretty good.

This album dosen't sound like the same group that made Let It Bleed, Beggars Banquet and Goat's Head Soup. But, the Stones proberbly would have felt the album failed if they didn't do something different. Lyrically, it's not one of their best. But "Sad Sad Sad" is one of their best guitar licks. It could take it place amoung the best (tied with Keith's solo in "Sympathy For The Devil") And "Mixed Emotions" is a good number, as is "Slippin' Away" and "Almost Hear You Sigh" If you're just becoming a Stones fan, get Let It Bleed Or Get Yer Ya-Ya's out instead. For old and die hard fans, give this album a try, it's a good one.

As a long time fan, my picks are: Break The Spell good(bass line),Can't Be Seen (Keith)I like the (live) verison also, Almost Heard You Sigh(Mick)best vocal/words and Mix emotions good song. This is last album you can hear Bill Wyman. Better then there last couple of albums but it's no Let it Bleed.

Actually I love Continental Drift. I think its a ''stand out'' track. Iits really different to the stock standard stuff of recent (although I like that too).
This album is not the greatest Stones album. Continental Drift sounds pathetic and Rock And A Hard Place isn`t that good either. The only saving graces are Sad Sad Sad and Mixed Emotions. But it made them a bunch of money, so who am I to talk? Anyway, buy this album cheap.
