Comments for Balanescu Quartet, Luminitza

E-MAIL: ule@rheinkultur.de
Balanescu origin is not soviet but rumanian. He''s living in London. I''m sure there is at least one more album available called >Possessed< with music of Kraftwerk and David Byrne. Balanescu is working together strongly with Michael Nyman, his quartet kind of belongs to Nyman''s orchestra, who composes works especially for the BQ. The Balanescu Quartet is often referred to as the European Kronos and includes many a times sound-samples a.s.o. into the recently amplified strings of its own. Regards Ulrich Leschak
If this database allowed me to specify multiple genres, this would be "experimental world chamber" music.Listenable and modern with a political/cultural statement(on some tracks).

The title Luminitza is romanian for little light, I hope to through the music, and all the clouds that still hang over romania after communism give hope, a little light.
