Comments for Rush, HemispheresE-MAIL: joeland@matt.ksu.ksu.edu **** The last of the trilogy is also their best album to the date. PRIME CUTS-- dig 'em all. --J. TeelE-MAIL: kyle.e.gilats@uwrf.edu The most outsanding instrumental work on a rock album in history. Geddy at his best on bass. Lyrically, Peart sounds like a sage. Production is amazing considering the time period (1978). Lifeson's "Lerxst In Wonderland" has him displaying some of his best ability to arpeggio and vary harmonies. A wonderful conclusion to the Cynus story. "We will call you Cygnus, the God of Balance you shall be" . Cygnus really Rocks. Peart uptempo symbols on that part really makes the music flow. An album to played for years and years. Not a bad moment on it. Any progressive rock fan should have it. An historical album. I can't stop playing it.E-MAIL: wavespy@ix.netcom.com Quite simply my favorite Rush album and probably my favorite rock rock album of all time!E-MAIL: crmobl00@mik.uky.edu Okay, can Rush do anything else? They have shown us that they are the best in rock music Hemispheres, that they have the best bassist, the best guitarist, and the absolute best drummer in the world!! Too many good things about this one to list - shear excellence!!!E-MAIL: sac83826@saclink.csus.edu E-MAIL: cs008133@ecs.csus.edu i realize that it's been close to twenty years when the band came out with this one, and that there's been plenty to enjoy in the following albums, but HEMISPHERES is the one that will always remind me of why I love Rush. musicianship is absolutely stellar, and everything about it is so ambitious. AND WHY DON'T THEY PLAY "CIRCUMSTANCES" LIVE ANYMORE???E-MAIL: axon45@rocketmail.com This was the first "art-rock" cd that I had ever heard! I was a junior in "high school" at the time! When I went to the university (a year and a half later) a friend of mine had this album and "Dark Side Of The Moon" on a 90 minute cassette tape! After listening to his tape, I was astounded by the level of musicianship of this band!! This is still a superb album! This was the first album to get me into the "art-rock" genre!! It is my ninth favorite Rush cd and my 43rd favorite overall!! It still deserves a rating of a 9/10 and yes-once again: I do own the digitally remastered version!!BLAH BLAH BLAH Although I think the title track could have been a couple of minutes shorter(JMHO)this album is virtually flawless. From the first notes to the GREATEST INSTRUMENTAL SONG EVER WRITTEN!!!EVER!!! It cannot be ignored (but will be for no band has been so under appreciated as RUSH) 10/10 **********rickko642001@yahoo.com In my opinion, this is their bet album.rickko642001@yahoo.com EXCUSE ME, I CAN'T F**KING SPELL!Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
