Comments for Rusted Root, When I Woke

E-MAIL: ak272@freenet.buffalo.edu
Four tracks on this CD (Send me on my way, Cat turned Blue, Martyr, and Back to the Earth) are also on their first CD. This is because "When I Woke" is their first major label production. Rusted Root's first CD is "Cruel Sun" which can only be obtained from them directly or at a show. E-mail if would like their address

Along with "Cruel Sun", "When I Woke" digs deep into those primal instincts of human behavior. A must see band, that makes you vision the world and nature as never before. Rusted Root is gaining a huge gathering; seeing them in Baltimore at Graffitis with probably 250-300 people, then, only weeks later at the Bayou in Washington D.C. with seemingly over 500 or 600. To the band: don't ever forget about the little people.

When I Woke is a must buy. Each song has its own feeling, its own story. The album will grow on you... One song will put you into a state of nirvana, while "Back to the Earth" gets your pulse racing. Concert is a must see. To the band: keep on playin' for the small people.

The first time I ever heard Root was in concert. INCREDIBLE!!! Catch them now while they're still playing for the small crowds. When I Woke is addicting and once you start listening you're hooked. I'd go to every concert if I'd the time and money. KEEP IT UP ROOT AND DON'T FORGET ABOUT UPSTATE NY!!!

Everybody needs to come and see this up and coming band play at Gannon University in Erie Pa. They will be playing on April 20, and tickets go on sale Thursday March 23. For ticket info call 814-455-5282 This will be our first real concert in the four years I've been at this school and if it doesn't sell out I'll be extremly disappointed not to mention we may never have another concert again!

An unbelievable album. Every song on it is exceptional. I've never seen them live, but a few of my friends have seen them open for the Dave Matthews Band and say that they are terrific live. This is a definite must-buy. Support this incredible band.

This GROUP, not just this album, is the best, (and I'm not just saying this because I am from Pittsburgh, the same place the group is from!). They opened for the Dead in Pittsburgh, and it was a great show. I recommend seeing them in person whenever and where ever possible!

The best album I have heard in a long time... and they are better LIVE...

The 1st song I heard by Rusted Root was "Send Me On My Way" and I heard it late at night on MTV (Which in my opinion was the LAST good thing on MTV). I thought the song was WAY Cool. Soon I Bought the "When I Woke" album. I am hooked and addicted. I LOVE thier music. Very different, complex and well composed. As Tony the Tiger might say, THIER GRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT!

PRESENTING RUSTED ROOT: THE WORLD'S WORST BAND!

Rusted Root is one of the only bands around today that can make you feel alive!!!! It is not only earth moving, but it is a spiritual awakening.

I was at the show in Pittsburgh when the opened for the Grateful Dead and really enjoyed them. It also turned out to be my final Grateful Dead show. The next concert I saw (after Jerry''s death) was the Allman Brothers and Rusted Root opened for them too. They mentioned the Pittsburgh show and dedicated "Send Me On My Way" to Jerry. It was moving. I like the city of Pittsburgh too - I''m a Penguins fan.
See them live if you can
