this is a really great album for eclectic listeners. it can become very religious at times but never loses its beauty. songs like the gorgeous love is everything and the kd lang duet calling all angels are both exceptional.

"The Vigil (the sea)" is a glorious track. Sib continues at her eclectic best.

An essential album to own. Just about every song on here is a winner. "Calling All Angels", "Love Is Everything", etc. I especially love "At The Beginning of Time"--this is fantastic. Would anyone else love to have seen what Daniel Lanois could have done with the production (nothing again Sib, Eno or Brook, but DL is my favourite) :-)

Words can't do justice to it. The album is pure beauty.

My favorite Siberry album. Soothing and addicting. Seductive in its charm. The sound of the album is on the soft side. The record derives its power from a delicate balance of sounds, lyrics and arrangements.

The first time I Heard this album, close to two years ago, I think I almost fainted because I Had never heard anything so beautiful. still now, one of my favorite things to do is to lie on my bedroom floor with my friends Julie and emily and listen to the Gospel according to Darkness.

Others fade and fall off, but “When I Was A Boy” makes the “Deserted Island” list every time. The beauty of this recording is unutterable, ethereal, and so gracefully visceral that I have never heard anything like it, never had such a sea of soundwaves seize and hold every emotion so completely.

Truly one of the most brilliant recordings of the last ten years... nothing compares to "the gospel according to darkness" in bringing me closer to a spirituality (ahem), "the vigil (the sea)" is perfect in a funereal sense, and "at the beginning of time" echoes the pre-columbian folklore

heard Love is Everything on WXPN in Phila, bought the album and was amazed by the albums beauty and strength. Jane''s vocals were subtle yet powerful. recommend this album to family and friends.
Jane Siberry is one of Canada`s most creative artists. This album was produced by Brian Eno, and features k.d. lang, Holly Cole, and Rebecca Jenkins. "Calling All Angels" was on the "Until The End of The World" soundtrack.
