Comments for Simon, Carly, Hello Big Man

"Orpheus" is a gorgeous ballad based on a Greek myth. "You Don't Feel the Same" is stirring and has a gospel flavor. "It Happens Every Day" has an Everly Brothers quality to it. Excellent writing, singing and production throughout the album, which is par for the course for Ms. Simon.

Why has WB pulled this off the shelves? This is one of Carly's best. I enjoy just about all of the songs. Bring it back, so the fans can have a complete CS discography again.

I love the "Hello Big Man" song, which is the story of Carly's mom and dad meeting. I think it's sweet.

This is my FAVORITE album of all times. I have been actively trying to purchase this album after losing my cassette many years ago and to this date have been unsucessful in finding anyone wanting to get rid of their copy. I agree that they should re-release this album or songs --including "Hello Big Man"-- onto her next greatest hits. Hello Big Man may be "sickenly sweet" to some, but it brings back the best memories of the beginning of my relationship with my husband. Please re-release soon. Thank you....Joan

An odd album, most notable for its reggae songs. These soundmore like they come from the island of Martha`s Vineyardthan Jamaica, but they are surprisingly good. Sly andRobbie play on a few, including a high-spirited rendition ofBob Marley`s "Is This Love". Otherwise, there are some excellent acoustic ballads and very funny send-up of the self-improvement brigade ("Floundering"). Only the title song, which is sickeningly sweet, detracts. An uneven albumwith some very good moments.
