This is the best album I have ever owned.

Great album. Got ranked as one of the best albums nobody's ever heard. Heard that DGC didn't like the album, and wanted the band to rerecord it. They didn't want to, and left it as it was. Because of this, DGC killed the album as far as radio airplay goes in the states. I think that really turned the band off of recording.

I saw their "last" show as they called it at EdgeFest III at the Molson Ampitheater and they said they would be concentrating on Murderrecords, BUT, they would still be releasing stuff and maybe doing some smaller shows, but under a different name.

Twice Removed is a fantastic album. Having known them from smeared I was surprised at what I heard. It was different! The best thing about the album, I feel, is the fact that you can listen to it and only a few songs will really jump out at you. Then, a couple months later you can put it back on and realize, hey, that's a REALLY great song! It's this depth, the fact that I can listen to it several times and always find something new that makes this (now defunct?) group my fave and major influence.

Twice Removed is arguably one of the best guitar/pop albums ever recorded. It's sound is hard to describe because all 12 songs are diverse. The first single "Coax Me" is very reminiscent of the Beatles. Their melodies are catchy and will leave you humming them all day. Jay Ferguson and Pat Pentland's guitar hooks reel you right in. Chris Murphy's voice and Andrew Scott's drum fills blend right in creating the perfect harmony. It's a shame DGC wasted its time promoting bands like Weezer and Hole, when a band that is actually talented, like Sloan is neglected. Rumour: the band supposedly "broke" up, however I've heard that they've supposedly have recorded one more album for DGC. They are no longer with DGC, but they recorded a 7 inch single on murderecords, the label that they own. The word on the street is that they will reform on murder and continue to record. In the past, they have been known to change their name. I've seen them 4 times and once they played under the name Salon Selectives.

One of the most underrated albums and bands that I know of.

The best Canadian album of all time? Chart magazine thinks so. Twice Removed epitomizes Canadian music: it's an album of addictive songs with lyrics that leave you feeling incredibly happy, but with a slightly melancholy, wistful yearning for an undefinable something that escaped you somewhere along the line. I think only Neil Young and the Rheos are in the same league. Don't miss it.

EXCELLENT ALBUM...COAX ME IS THE BEST SONG EVER!!
Somewhat more like Teenage Fanclub or Eugenius but not as Big Star-ish as eith of them. The production brings out their harmonies well. "I Hate My Generation" is what songs from "Rubber Soul" would sound like if that album were recorded now.
This is without a doubt one of the best almbums I have ever had the pleasure of putting in my cd player. They have so much talent between the four of them.
