The second act jumps to the present where his possible great-grandson is also an artist arranging a tribute for the 100th anniversary of the painting`s completion.The play is about the creation of art, and how it is linked to internal forces such as inspiration and external forces such as politics (other artists, critics, etc.)The original cast stars Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters.
