Comments for Soundgarden, Badmotorfinger-SOMMS

Badmotorfinger is just about the best grunge album of all time. Chris Cornell is at his best screaming Jesus Christ Pose while base lines go off.

s.coffey@auckland.ac.nz, you really don't need to use words like that to make a point but you are right about S.U. by soundgarden being the best!!!!!!!!!!!!

I deeply apologise,but...you guys are totally wrong! I got the normal BMF but it still is great, much better than this new trendy shit. On this album they've matured into the best metal garaunteed to get your blood boiling since queen- ryche did Op. Mincrime! Searching... even has the given "i am not chris cornell i am satan" comment, and Rusty Cage has a great synthesizer beat! a must for any metal fan! BTW, the album sold 2million copies before S.Unknown ever came out, proving they were good before this new shit...

Kim Thayil and Chirs Cornell do a great job on Room A Thousand Years Wide. The guitar is incredible in that. I think that the sax solo at the end really brought this song down, however.

All this arguing about whether bmf is better than the unknown is futile. Both albums are fantastic, and both deserve to be recognised as such. However, I've always hated people who won't lean one way or the other, so here is my vote. Even though bmf is what originally attracted me to soundgarden, superunknown shows a band whose song writing and musical talent have taken huge strides towards perfection. I suppose its just a question of whether you like the full-on riffing of 'jesus christ pose' or the musicianship of 'the day i tried to live'

1.) Comparing any 2 Soundgarden albums is like comparing apples and oranges, you just can't do it. 2.) I like the sax solos, especially in Drawing Flies. It's totally heavy and annoying sounding. 3.) Badmotorfinger is actually the first weak SG album to old Soundgarden fans...too structured, not as diverse as say, Sreaming Life/FOPP

All of soundgarden''s albums are great!! But my favorite is still the very under rated louder than love, which is the first album of theirs i bought way back in 1989 before anybody heard of seattle,I wore the tape out and had to buy the cd a couple years later. How can you argue with the awesome ugly trurh, Hands all over, loud love and many other grear songs on this album, even the reprise is great!!
Badmotorfinger itself was released in 1991, but this compilationis 1992. BMF is the last good SG album. Riff heavy and brain torturing. SOMMS has some great cover songs, if you were lucky enough to get while it was included free with BMF.
