Cat Stevens was the most talented musician of the time period. He could put on a wonderful show without having to be vulgar, as many of the '70s artists were. His music is timeless, my 16 year old finally listened to me and played the album. She thinks he's pretty neat too.

I don't doubt the sincerity of these songs, but in 1n 1997, they sound awfully dated. After Watergate, Ted Bundy, the Patty Hearst ordeal, Iran/Contra, Beavis & Butt-head, the Savings & Loan fiasco, etc., I have a hard time listening to "Peace Train" and "Moonshadow" with a straight face.

my god! There are some DUMB people out there!! his first LP was NOT 'Tea for the tillerman', that was his 4th. his albums are 1. Matthew and son 2. New Masters 3. Mona bone Jakon 4. Tea for the tillerman 5. Teaser and the firecat 6. Catch bull at four. 7. Foreigner.8. Buddha and the chocolate box 9. number. 10. izitso.11.Back to earth Anyway, 'Mona bone Jakon' and 'Catch bull at four' are equally as good as this album.

LOVELY ALBUM.HIS COMBACK WAS SECURED HERE.EVERYSONG ON HERE HAS BEAUTY.ONE OF HIS BEST.HE WAS THE BEST.
A classic. Only surpassed by his first LP Tea For The Tillerman.Three Billboard Top 40 Hits from this one album.
