Comments for Batt, Mike, Tarot Suite

A great album combining rock band and orchestral sounds,based around the concept of tarot cards. The balance ofvocal and instrumental tracks is really nice, with Mike Battsinging one song really well himself. The music is texturedand interesting with quick changes and loads of great ideas.(One short piece was used by an Australian radio station).The lush orchestral sounds are a pleasure, but there is stillplenty of guitar, synthesiser and saxophone. In places a bitdated-sounding, overall a bit short, but a fine album and a nice addition for "Snark" or Alan Parsons fans (Colin Blunstonesings one track),Ian Thomas.
