Comments for Sting, Nothing Like the Sun

This is in my opinion the best Sting-album ever. It contains a hybrid of jazz pop and rock. There are pop-songs here like "WeŽll be together" and jazz-pop like "Englishman in New York", among of the best songs songs ever written. The best is "Fragile", which I mean is the best ballad ever written. I can see why Sting always ends his consert with this one. If you are curious of Stings music, I mean this is the record you should listen at first. Calvin

I just bought this album last night to add to my collection. It is definetely one of Sting's classic albums. I recommend adding ...Nothing Like the Sun to your collection. Also, does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Portuguese version????

This has never been my favorite of Sting's albums but it has some of his best moments, especially "Fragile". There are many songs with extremely thoughtful lyrics. "We'll Be Together" has one of his best vocals, and "Englishman in New York" is basically perfect. An excellent album, like all of Sting's albums are.

"...Nothing Like the Sun" is a very good album, but it is not his best. "Fragile" is a decent song, but I don't think that it deserves as much credit as it seems to receive. "We'll Be Together" is terrific. One of the catchiest tunes ever written. "They Dance Alone" is the one I always fast forward through. It is too damn long. It's great that he is into Amnesty International and all that, but he should put SOME emphasis on the quality of the song as well as the "message". "Be Still My Beating Heart", "Rock Steady", and "Straight to My Heart" are all wonderful. The real gem though, I think, has got to be "History Will Teach Us Nothing". Good message, good lyrics, and still a WONDERFUL song. Almost reminiscent of his Police work. Though, since "...Nothing..." is from '87, I guess it should sound a bit Police-esque. As far as his solo work though, I think that his era is the '90s, for sure. This is a great CD. I'm gonna go listen to it now.
