Without any doubt - CD of the year. One of those CD's which make you not want to listen to any of the others in your collection. Why bother? None of them is as good as this one.

You know what? S.T.P. rock. When I first heard plush, i thought it was the best song that I have ever heard. So went out and got the core c.d. Every song was great, and when I got the Purple c.d. When they released their first l.p. ,some people sayed S.T.P. was a clone of Pearl Jam. Now with this l.p.,they showed they were able to become bigger than Pearl Jam. PURPLE is actually the best album released in 1994 !!!

My favorite band, my favorite album.

Simply because every comment on here is droolingly worshipful, I have to say that Stone Temple Pilots are the most boring, overrated, bloated and worthless band spawned by the grunge movement - and that's really saying something. I feel so much better now.

Although STP isn't even close to being my favorite band, I must say that if you think that they're the worst thing to come from grunge rock, then you've never heard Pearl Jam before.

This CD makes an excellent frisbee.

Purple is STP's best (of three so far)...Still Remains is one of the coolest songs I have ever heard. And if STP is the worst part of this style of music, then the rest of the alternative-grunge-rock-whatever-you-want-to-call-it world must be the work of gods because STP is extraordinarily good.

Among their three albums released so far, this one is the best. A fantastic band.

This is as close to a perfect album as there is. "Interstate Love Song" is the best song ever written. Nobody can touch STP!

I THOUGHT THAT CORE WAS UNCANNY. WHICH IT IS, SO WHAT WORD IS STRONG ENOUGH TO DESCRIBE THIS ONE? THERE ISN'T ONE, SO YOU JUST HAVE TO EXPERIENCE IT. THIS IS MY FAVORITE ALBUM EVER, WITH THE WALL IN A CLOSE SECOND. I'VE FOUND FOR THE FIRST TIME I CAN SIT AND ENJOY EACH AND EVERY SONG ON AN ALBUM. I AM TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH EVERY TRACK ON THIS ALBUM. SUCH ORIGINALLITY, MEANING, SUCH GREAT WORK FROM MY NEW FAVORITE BAND.

STP is one of the most fundamentally sound alternative bands Around. I think everyone should atleast give the music a fair chance before they make a decision about the quality. The guitar rythms, and Weiland voice are really great. Pay

I think that STP is great and all, but there is no way that they are bigger than Pearl Jam, as someone else has mentioned previously.

Silvergun Superman is by far the coolest song on the album. while it very well may never be a hit, it will always be #1

Who's the dumb ass who thought that the best song on Core was "Interstate Love Song?" If you were really into them you would know that "Interstate Love Song," is on Purple!!! But hey, anyone who LOVES STP is cool, so sorry man!!

HEY! STP does rule, and this album adds to that comment is a damn good way. This album is the best album STP has put out so far out of the three. The thing I like is that people who say that they like it always point out the songs that are lesser known, which means that they are actually listening to the CD, not the radio. People that cut down their albums don't make any reference to the songs like "Army Ants", or "Kitchenware and Candybars" or "Meatplow", all of which rule! Anyway, to anyone who likes this album, and also likes Tiny Music... I would STRONGLY recommend Cracker; The Golden Age. It combines slow songs like Big Dipper, with Hard songs like "I hate my Generation", and "100 Flower Power Maximum." Go get it! E-mail me if you love it!

Purple is definatly the best album by STP. My favorite song is Big empty, I also like meatplow,vasoline, Interstate love song, and many other songs. All and all I rate this album a 9.

I think STP kills P.J. Hands down. I find there music to be much more catchy. Interstate Love Song, Silvergun Superman, "unglued" and Kitchenware and Candy bars are in my opinion the best on Purple. STP rules and all the people who said STP sucks glueless. Especially the person with the frisbee comment.

S.T.P. is the best band out there , Everything else is just second rate

"Interstate Love Song" is the best song written in my lifetime. This whole album is good, and I doubt STP will ever top it.

STP rule, and from start to finish, this friggin album rocks, especially "still remains" and "vasoline" Word to all you fans.

Purple is the BEST STP album recorded yet. It's range of tracks that kick arse basically kick arse over all the other albums recorded by other artists in 1994. Hence the fucking obvious reason why it was voted best album in 1994. Those souls who think Purple shit are shit. What more can I say... STP kick!

oh, the epiphany! every time i hear "interstate love song", i melt inside. what do the critics know? STP is one of the top bands of the 90s.

As the lead funkmeister of Stone Cold Boners, I've seen many a great band emerge in our era. One such being the STP. We're a funky cover band that emerged after the Kennet Government's budget cuts to the state's psychiatric wards. We may not play STP cover songs but we get around to listening to their great music. Stone Temple Pilots are the greatest!(much better than pearl jam) This albums is great! My absolute favorites on Purple are "Still Remains," "Unglued," and "Army Ants." This is the best album! I recommend listening to it as soon as possible. P.S. I agree that SCOTT WEILAND could kick Eddie Vedder's ass anyday.

This album is twice as good as their debut album (which wasn`t to shabby either!). The day I bought this album I fell in love with Interstate Love Song. I think that it may turn out to be bigger than Plush was. Overall, it is just a great album.-MEP
