The re-opening of the Paradise Theater has been long awaited. Welcome back Tommy! I saw the show in Camden NJ and cant wait until you guys come back to Holmdel. It has been 15 years since I first saw the curtain go up at the Paradise Theater.

This is the classic "This band is about to fold" album. If you have "Caught in the act" (the live album) you can hear the "I really don't think I care anymore" attitude in their playing. Paradise Theater is the only Styx LP that I haven't bothered to replace on CD and never will. Execpt for the possible execption of "Too much time on my hands" this album is garbage. Just slightly better than "Kilroy was here"

Based upon the demise of a real theatre in Chicago in 1958, Paradise Theatre is a metaphor for the demise of the American dream. This is arguably Styx's best album, featuring the hits "Too Much Time" and "The Best of Times". Branded as "Corporate Rock" by the media, ironically Dennis DeYoung would not sell the rights to "The Best of Times" for a 1980's fast food commercial.

I love the quitars in "Half Penny Two Penny," and "Rockin'' the Paradise" is a great song as well.
