This album just has the most incredible energy to it. It's incredible.

"On the Mouth" isn''t as emotional as "Foolish," and "On the Mouth isn''t as hard sounding as "Superchunk;" "On the Mouth" is pretty much right in the middle of the two. But it''s a happy medium. "On the Mouth" still has the driving force of "Superchunk" and at the same time it was the preliminary to "Foolish"''s emotional integrity. Because of this, "On the Mouth" is probably Superchunk''s most widely listened to record. Considering it still holds onto the hardcore and punk rocker, while recruiting members of a softer "indie" rock scene. If you have "Superchunk" or "Tossing Seeds" you should definately check out "On the Mouth" and if you liked "Foolish" you should definately check out "On the Mouth." It''s an all-around winner, you can''t lose.
When I saw the comments for "Foolish", I had to put in my words for this album. Although this album is a little colder than "No Pocky For Kitty", it is still quite emotional, a unique mix of being lighthearted and a little depressed. It is artful, but there is no doubt that this is good punk rock that spent two months in my car`s tape deck. Ask your local Superchunk fan, though: The people I knew were either mildly disappointed or wildly ecstatic when this was released. It has enough variety that I won`t pick a favorite song. It is everything from the slow feedback song to the upbeat punk songs, yes, with more trademark Superchunk feedback. Enjoy.
