Comments for Sylvian, David, Gone To Earth

E-MAIL: j.p.djajadiningrat@io.tudelft.nl
On a few tracks of this album play John Taylor (piano) and Kenny Wheeler. Both are very good jazz instrumentalists of ECM label fame (European Contemporary Music). Their recordings with Norma Winstone are particularly good and closely resemble the tracks on this album by Sylvian.

David goes ethereal. Take the time and listen to this superb album and you will not go unrewarded. Mr. Sylvian progresses album by album. Favourite tracks include Gone to Earth, Silver Moon, and Laughter and Forgetting. This album portrays Sylvians musical (rather than lyrical) acheivements (see Secrets of the Beehive) for the mastery of lyrics) and is a deeply satisfying album. Enjoy alone or with someone you love.

This one is not as good as his debut one, but the track Laughter and fogetting, where ECM musicians Kenny Wheeler and John Taylor plays, is very cool.

This one isn''t immediate. It sneaks up on you, slowly but surely! It conjures many different images and once it gets in your head, it''s difficult to get rid of. Favourite tracks on this album include ''Before the Bullfight'' and ''Wave'', although it''s best enjoyed as a complete experience......
