Comments for Thompson Twins, Singles Collection

I agree with the person above as this is a singles collection should have featured the original single version of sister of mercy with piano not featured on a hits cd before. Although the rare remix of Lay Your Hands On Me is Great worth getting it for that alone as i have never heard it anywhere else. nobody knows the Thompson Twins music like themselves and what other Thompson Twins fans want to hear so maybe they should be consulted to make the definetive Twins collection Peter Finnegan

This compilation, released in late 1996, is another example that not everbody wants to do justice to this 80`s band. Not only does this compilation feature most of the same, edited remixes that were released on "Greatest Mixes" 8 years earlier, but it was also another missed opportunityto showcase some great music by a great 80`s band. Instead of slapping on some album tracks (such as with "Watching","Sister Of Mercy" and "You Take Me Up", as these tracks havebeen released many times before on other compilations), theycould have included the 7" version of "Sister Of Mercy", whichfeatures a piano-only intro with Tom Bailey singing solo, then by the second verse, the song takes it`s original form. Seeing as thisis a UK release, I don`t know why they didn`t include thisas it was that version that was originally released as a SINGLE, thereforethe title of this album is misleading. On the otherhand, every Thompson Twins compilation I`ve bought over theyears has included a rare, unreleased track. In this case, the U.S. Remix of "Lay Your Hands On Me". This apparentlywas the "demo" version of the 12" U.S. remix from late 1984, but another version was released instead. This versionwas not released until it`s inclusion on this CD. It`s worth buying for that track alone.I have a message for Arisa records:I`ve been a huge fan of this band when I was younger. Nexttime you want to release a retrospective of this band, PLEASE consult me, Norm Authier, as I will be able to put togethera compilation that will do justice to the Thompson Twinsand that will SELL, ONCE AND FOR ALL! Also, think of using their originalTT logo and adding lots of photos and colors. This was avery colorful band. Those aspects should be emphasized. You hear me, Arista?!?!
